In Pakistan, what is happening now is pure devastation. 33 million people are displaced and without shelter. Nearly 1,000 killed and more than 500,000 houses destroyed, close to 1 billion livestock deaths.
Climate change is seen in the floods taking place and it is horrifying.
"In our lives, we have never seen such a shift as we are experiencing. The scale of devastation and loss of life and home," said Saima (name changed).
"An estimated PKR 400 billion in damage to homes and property," added Anjum (name changed).
Immediate flood relief is needed and holistically, planting trees is critical. Every year, the situation worsens and lives are at risk.
Thank you for your generosity. Larger scale campaigns are needed to make climate-mitigating impact.
