I was in Uganda in May and saw first hand how a little bit of rain was helping their crops. The crops are not fantastic, but they are better. Maybe 40%. The villagers were gratly encouraged. We are hoping that this tentative crops will see them through the winter without the need or outside help, but we will be watching. I will be on the ground again in Uganda in late November and will be able to get a better assessment then. When I talked with our partner NGO in Uganda last week they were excited to report that late fall rains have returned so this may help as crops are reaching maturity. I will report again when I return.
