With many thanks to all our supporters, the work of our PeaceJam UK Youth Leadership Team continues to grow. In their drive to support young people develop more confidence about their futures and how they can contribute to and change their communities, they have been active with preparations for the PeaceJam UK one-day Slam which has been postponed to Saturday 11 March 2023.
The team has been polishing the programmes for the day, and for the six-week wrapround activities that schools, and youth groups can use to prepare and debrief their students. This has involved putting together a range of great, interactive workshops around the three strands of: Climate Change, Refugees, and Conflict Prevention; organising an excellent group of young panellists; and training university students to mentor and lead the discussion groups.
The six-week programme is packed with wonderful activities that will be released four weeks before the Slam and continue for two weeks after the Slam when there will be a “virtual” follow-up event to help with project development. And it is linked to the “Active Citizenship” element of the GCSE Citizenship syllabus.
Your support continues to be invaluable, allowing us to grow the PeaceJam UK family of young people who are keen to change their futures and their communities for the better. Thank you so much.
