With the very generous support of our GlobalGiving donors, over July and August, we are planning a new venture to support young people.
This will be a virtual PeaceJam UK Club, to be launched in September. The Club will probably be held weekly and will be run by members of our Youth Leadership Team, drawing on the positive influences of near-peer mentoring.
There will be guest speakers with question-and-answer elements, fun activities, opportunities for meeting young people from across the UK, and possibly Europe, and small discussion groups. Members will also be guided to develop projects that tackle issues that are important to them, empowering them to take action, increasing their feeling of self-worth, and giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities and learn new skills.
This is a very exciting development for us, and all made possible by the generosity of our GlobalGiving donors – thank you very much.
