Programming to help Argentinian low income youth

The IntegrarTEC Program welcomed its second cohort of students, who embarked on their educational journey in early March. These 45 individuals were carefully chosen from a competitive pool of 192 applicants, reflecting the program's rigorous selection process.

In response to valuable feedback from previous graduates, this year's academic program of IntegrarTEC incorporated an introductory module, ensuring all participants establish a strong groundwork in logical thinking and coding. With this stage successfully completed, they eagerly immersed themselves in the comprehensive Fullstack+ course. Presently, their enthusiasm is palpable as they embark on collaborative web development projects in group settings.

In spite of the rigorous selection process for applicants and the preparatory course that paved the way for the academic program, approximately one-third of the scholarship recipients opted to discontinue their training within the initial four months due to the program's intensity. This dropout rate was anticipated, given the demanding nature of IntegrarTEC's training. Despite the extensive support system in place for students, not everyone can sustain the pace. On a brighter note, the initial anonymous satisfaction survey yielded remarkable results, with an outstanding 97% of the remaining scholarship holders highly rating the course content, and an impressive 84% stating that the initial modules far surpassed their expectations.

We are thrilled to highlight that three graduates from IntegrarTEC 2022 have now become Teaching Assistants at Global Learning, the academy responsible for delivering the training. These exceptional individuals lend their expertise to assist the teachers and provide invaluable support to fellow students facing greater challenges in keeping up with the program. Their dedication and experience serve as an inspiring example to all.

At IntegrarTEC, mentorships are conducted in small groups to reinforce the focus on agile methodologies proposed in the training. This approach fosters meaningful exchanges among participants and facilitates the formation of a robust network. In addition to providing ongoing support throughout the program, mentors play a vital role in facilitating job placements by sharing their personal experiences and offering valuable guidance.

"Last year, it was incredibly important for me to secure a spot in the IntegrarTEC scholarships. As a computer technician with a passion for coding, I was eager to sharpen my programming skills. And let me tell you, it was more than just learning how to program. The knowledge I gained opened doors for me to pursue my own IT ventures.
This year, I have the amazing opportunity to lend a hand to the next group of students in their coursework. It's not only a chance for me to reinforce and expand my own knowledge, given the broader curriculum, but also a way to give back to the Fundación for their unwavering support throughout my journey as a programmer. it´s very exciting to be able to share everything I've learned and help more individuals become part of the programming world."
