Thanks to your support, Project Keep Me continues to provide critical assistance to those facing life’s most difficult moments—ensuring that no one has to choose between their own well-being and the safety of their beloved pet.
Last month, we were honored to assist two veterans through our newly expanded program.
One veteran entered a 30-day in-patient treatment program and entrusted us with the care of a loyal companion during this time. With plans to continue recovery in a 60-day program later this summer, we’ll be welcoming the dog back when that time comes—ready to provide a safe haven once again. Knowing the dog is in good hands has allowed this veteran to focus on their own health without the fear of losing their best friend.
In another powerful moment, a local emergency room contacted us on behalf of a veteran who walked in needing urgent help. He had nowhere for his dog to go while he received care. As soon as we heard the name, we realized this was a dog we had adopted to him years ago. It was a beautiful full-circle moment—and after a short stay with us, they have now been joyfully reunited.
These are just two examples of how your generosity keeps families together, even in crisis. As we continue to grow this program, we’re seeing firsthand how deeply it’s needed—not only by survivors of domestic violence but also by veterans navigating the path to healing.
Thank you for believing in our mission. With your help, we’re not just caring for pets—we’re restoring hope, dignity, and peace of mind to the people who love them.
With gratitude,
The Second Chance Animal Services Team
