Introduction
According to the United Nations SDG 14 - Saving our ocean must remain a priority. Marine biodiversity is critical to the health of people and our planet. Marine protected areas need to be effectively managed and well-resourced and regulations need to be put in place to reduce overfishing, marine pollution and ocean acidification.
Report
We have formed a new partnership to address this goal, in the Western Cape who employ a holistic and inclusive research approach, working to promote the sustainable use and informed conservation of living marine resources. In addition to our research, the academy works on skills development and training division, offering exceptional training opportunities for early career scientists and conservationists..
