Hello Friends of the Hogar San José,
It finally seems life is getting somewhat back to normal. Our girls have started school again (in Argentina, the school year goes from beginning of march until mid December, with two weeks off in July), and the routine is slowly settling in.
Our highlight this summer were the 5 days in Cordoba. It is the first time we can take the girls on holiday during the actual holiday season! We went to La Cumbre, which is in the middle of Argentina. It is a 15000 people town, on the sierras (low mountains) with rivers to be enjoyed. Since pictures speak more than words, here go some!
We have also formally opened our half way house, and currently two of the three girls that finished high school last year, moved into the house. The third one will do so as soon as she turns 18 next month. It is a big adjustment for them as well as for us, and we will let you know how they do being responsible for many new things (which one takes for granted but do not happen when you live on a home with care takers, such as waking up on your own, cooking for yourself, doing your laundry, etc). More about this project on the next report.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
