Hello Friends of the Hogar San José,
Time flies, and thankfully, our girls are enjoying a quiet year. Although Covid is still strong, most people have been vaccinated a couple of times and so catching Covid is usually a strong flu.
We had the visit of a group of volunteers called Tijeras Solidarias! (Charitable Scissors). They came to the Hogar San José to cut hair and style the girls. It was a lot of fun!
Ema turned 18 last month. She has shown interest in staying at our half way house, and is finishing school in a few months. She wants to be a social worker and has already chosen her university. (Argentina has both public and private universities, both are good and the public universities are free). Knowing that she can follow her dream makes all our efforts worthwhile. A few years ago she was out of school, being sent by her family to sell stuff on the trains, and after a few hears at the Hogar San José, this young lady can look forward to a university career!
Thank you for your ongoing help!
