Thanks to the overwhelming support from our supporters during the April Accelerator campaign on GlobalGiving, which has generated just over $8,000 of our overall target of $11,250, we have been busy putting in place everything needed to provide lunch to all of the children attending our Campus Day Care Centre with lunch and aftercare.
We have successfully completed the set-up phase in consultation with Social Welfare and other Government Departments to ensure the programme is delivered in line with all necessary regulations including the new and extending COVID-19 protocols. We have implemented additional wash stations for the children, bought new bed for mid-afternoon rest time, recruited, and trained all the staff (additional teachers, security, cook and volunteers) and implemented a new food management process and arrangements to ensure the children can be safely transported home if required.
We are thrilled to now be opening up the extended facilities, starting from 2nd August when all 56 children at our Centre will be staying the whole day and benefitting from an additional nutritious meal for lunch as well as a range of outdoor activities, arts & crafts, and fun and engaging additional education in the afternoon.
The parents are excited and relieved to now have the opportunity to work and have the peace of mind that their children are kept safe and being well looked after. The extra time they can focus on their work will significantly improve their earning potential and in turn make a big difference to their families lives.
Small acts of kindness can make a big impact - thanks to everyone that has donated to our project and others on GlobalGiving.
