Nour Association for Persons with Disabilities is facing an increasing burden due to the deteriorating conditions in refugee camps, compounded by the ongoing war and economic challenges. The demand for medical aid, including medications and assistive devices, has risen dramatically. Our mission to support impoverished families, particularly those with children with disabilities, has stretched our resources to their limits. Moreover, we are struggling with debts and outstanding payments to pharmacies for previous assistance provided to these families.

In this report, we outline some of the urgent cases and highlight the monthly medical aid required to stabilize or improve the health conditions of these individuals. Our focus remains on assisting families in Bethlehem, especially those living in extreme poverty and families with disabled members.

Social and Medical Cases 1. Fatima (Age 9, Cerebral Palsy)

• Condition: Fatima suffers from severe cerebral palsy, which affects her mobility and muscle control. She requires ongoing physical therapy and medications to manage muscle spasms.
• Needs:
  • Baclofen and diazepam for muscle relaxation.
  • A new wheelchair with customized support.
  • Monthly physical therapy sessions.

2. Ahmad (Age 6, Hydrocephalus)

• Condition: Ahmad has hydrocephalus and relies on a surgically implanted shunt to manage fluid buildup. Regular medical check-ups and medications are critical for his condition.
• Needs:
  • Antiseptic solutions and antibiotics to prevent infections.
  • A walker for mobility training.
  • Regular neurologist consultations.

3. Huda (Mother of 3, Unemployed)

• Condition: Huda suffers from chronic diabetes and hypertension. She is the sole caretaker of her three children, two of whom have learning disabilities.
• Needs:
  • Insulin and antihypertensive medications.
  • Glucometer and testing strips for daily monitoring.
  • Nutritional supplements for the children.

4. Mohammad (Age 8, Autism)

• Condition: Mohammad is on the autism spectrum and requires therapy to improve his communication and social skills. He also has dietary restrictions.
• Needs:
  • Supplements and a special gluten-free diet.
  • Behavioral therapy sessions.
  • Noise-canceling headphones to reduce sensory overload.

5. Salwa (Age 65, Widow)

• Condition: Salwa is a widow living alone with severe arthritis and visual impairment.
• Needs:
  • Pain relief medications and eye drops for dry eye syndrome.
  • A cane for mobility.
  • Regular home care support.

6. Rania (Age 10, Down Syndrome)

• Condition: Rania has Down syndrome and recurrent respiratory infections.
• Needs:
  • Antibiotics and vitamin supplements.
  • Speech therapy sessions.
  • A nebulizer for respiratory treatment at home.

7. Yousef (Father of 4, Unemployed)

• Condition: Yousef suffers from chronic back pain due to a workplace injury and is unable to afford proper medical care.
• Needs:
  • Pain management medications.
  • A lumbar support belt.
  • Physiotherapy sessions.

Urgent Medical Aid Requirements

To address the needs of these and other cases, we require:

1. Medications: Essential drugs for chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, epilepsy, and respiratory diseases.
2. Assistive Devices: Wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and nebulizers.
3. Therapy Support: Funding for physical, speech, and behavioral therapy sessions.
4. Medical Supplies: Glucometers, testing strips, antiseptic solutions, and other consumables.

Conclusion

The increasing demand for medical aid and assistive devices has placed a significant strain on our resources. These families rely on our monthly assistance to stabilize or improve their health conditions. We appeal to donors and partners to support this vital cause, ensuring that the most vulnerable in our community can receive the care they desperately need. Together, we can alleviate their suffering and bring hope to those in need.

Now, we at the Nour Complex, in cooperation with Princess Basma, seek to cover a small number of available medical tools, in addition to the tools that help people survive. Despite the fact that none of these institutions were able to deliver any aid, we include everyone, including the Red Crescent and the Red Cross. However, we keep the right of our people to treatment and survival in first place, striving to make the introduction of anything successful. We do not know what else to say, but we thank you for your help and we invite you to donate for more if we are allowed to provide them through these institutions with any kind of assistance. We have the financial capacity ready to help, contribute, and visit the opportunity for our family and brothers in Gaza to survive.
