Haiti's economy is primarily based on agriculture. For decades, many factors have negatively affected the Haitian agricultural sector by causing disinterest. Crops rarely produce their maximum yield because farmers do not have access to an essential resource: quality seeds. This project aims to provide quality seeds to more than 500 farmers in Grand'Anse to enable them to increase their agricultural yields, producing enough food to combat food insecurity currently plaguing Haiti.
Farmers in Grand'Anse are currently facing the problem of access to quality seeds. Their crops rarely give their maximum yield due to poor seed quality. After selling their harvest, farmers complain of deficits recorded due to poor harvests linked to seed quality. They do not have the means to buy quality seeds. This causes disinterest among farmers and accelerates the problem of food insecurity.
This project aims to provide quality seeds of to farmers to enable them to obtain better yields from their gardens and improve crop production and productivity. make seeds available to growing areas. Put farmers in direct contact with seed producers.
By providing quality seeds to 500 farmers, in the long term they will obtain better yields from their gardens and they will be able to make a decent living from their land and also get out of the hunger paradox.
