Team Lombok has finished replacing the roof on the clinic building ahead of schedule. The team had to get the work done before November when the rainy season starts in Bali and Lombok, so they pushed to get it done early. Yayasan Bumi Sehat Bali has given the builders an assurance to finish the work and will continue to fundraise to finish paying for the job.
Team Lombok has moved back into the building and reports that it is dry and safe, with no more leaks or holes. Now our staff can relax and focus on delivering our loving model of midwifery care to new mothers and look after the health of local families in Mataram instead of dealing with an unsafe building and potential health hazards.
Given climate change, weather patterns are no longer as predictable and the Mataram area recently had some heavy rains even though its currently the dry season. Now that the clinic has a new roof, this strange weather didn't affect them.
