In the vast tapestry of India, where colors blend and cultures collide, there exists a shared dream—a dream of education that transcends barriers. Let’s delve into our mission, woven with hope and determination.
The Challenge
Illiteracy’s Shadow: Despite progress, 35% of our nation remains illiterate. It’s a stark reminder that education isn’t universally accessible. Reasons vary—poverty, infrastructure gaps, and systemic challenges.
Disable Children Kicked Out: Many children with disabilities are often kicked to of the government schools and this includes both physical and mental disabilities as large classes teachers can’t handle the children that need extra support.
Our Guiding Light
Every child deserves an education: Our school doors is open to any child with a disability, in January this year we had a young boy with serious mental health disabilities and been rejected from many schools he was violent and disengaged. 6 months on he has a smile on his face and enjoys learning music.
Scholarships: Scholarships are more than financial aid; they’re keys to unlocked doors. We empower students—children, teenagers, and adults—to step through those doors and create their future and this is made possible with your support and donations as many of these families can’t afford education
Our Efforts recently
We ended the term in April for 3 months but we know that many children have nowhere to go and with disabilities many are behind other children so our teachers don’t go on holiday we carry on with a summer club, less formal and an opportunity for more creative sessions with our children - this is again funded by your donations. We opened our doors for the second term in June and our children have been busy making and selling eco-bags to the community, spending time in 1:1 sessions as well as continuing the national curriculum. Your donations funds a physiotherapist to attend our school 2 days a week, we have so many children in need of this support we would love to raise enough to make this 4 days a week but we need to secure $250 extra a month. You might remember Megha, we raised money for a leg brace for her through GlobalGiving about 4 months ago as she can’t walk. Today she is crawling and has so much more movement, you really did change her life. We are really hopeful with the physio she will begin to walk in the next 6-12 months. We recently had another 2 students come to us without wheelchairs or the correct leg braces and therefore we will begin fundraising for them too.
Our school really is special and one of a kind and we can’t do it without your support, last month we had a family reach out to us needing help with their son and they stay 3 hours away from the school in a very poor community but are looking what they can do to get to us as they want to give him the best opportunity possible.
How You Can Illuminate Minds
Donate: Your contribution fuels scholarships. It’s an investment in potential—the ripple effect of which reaches generations.
Spread Awareness: Share our story. Let others know that education isn’t just about facts; it’s about dreams taking flight.
In the quiet hours when ink meets paper, we write stories of resilience. Thank you for being part of this chapter—a chapter where illiteracy fades and enlightenment blooms.
Remember, education isn’t a solitary journey; it’s a collective voyage.
