Grow brighter futures for 360 Guatemalan children

As the Guatemalan School year closes, we end this year with a lot of excitement. All Planting Seeds operated preschools have returned to full-time in person classes, and we have finished our first year of partnership with organizations CAN and WINGS to provide nutrition and health services to all families. We are looking forward to working with two new partner schools next year to expand our reach to ten preschools implementing the methodology!

Our team has done an incredible job growing the number of families we reach while improving quality at the same time. This year, our entire staff received a variety of professional development, we improved elements of our teacher and community facilitator training programs, and we provided more comprehensive support in all of our preschools including book lending and parent training modules. 

Last week our six-year-old students are graduating from our preschools, and we couldn't feel prouder. Our students, their parents and teachers went above and beyond to achieve this milestone. Congratulations students and best wishes for your future!

We want to recognize and applaud our teachers for continuing to teach with love and empathy despite the difficulties that have arisen over the past couple of years. From brainstorming ideas to teach our preschoolers remotely to helping students adapt to a hybrid methodology. Our teachers have gone above and beyond, consistently delivering the same quality education with a smile on their faces.

We are excited to announce that in July, we will begin a new transition to have all our students back in the classrooms.

 We will start with larger groups of 6 children 4 days a week, and beginning in August, we will have full groups in all Planting Seeds preschools. 

Teachers, staff, and parents feel that we are ready to go back to school fully.

We can't wait to be together again!
