HAPPY FALL!
After a wildly successful year of our first-ever Youth Policy Fellowship, we are thrilled to be launching our second cohort of dynamic policy fellows! We will be having 8 youth of color (self-identified as female) research and create unique social justice initiatives they are truly passionate about. We cannot wait to see what they come up with as the inaugural cohort created campaigns around immigration rights, police violence, intimate partner violence, and homeless LGBTQIA+ youth.
After receiving crucial feedback from our inaugural fellows on enhancing our program, we will be adding a once a month Saturday session so they have more time to dive deep into their respective social justice projects. Another exciting new feature of the program will be intentionally connecting fellows with community organizers around NYC who have dedicated their work to the issues of interest of each fellow.
"I am just super excited to be working with young people who ready and willing to make a change in their communities. I am looking forward to the relationships built throughout this fellowship year and beyond." - Sophie Guity, Co-facilitator of the Youth Policy Fellowship
“I immediately pressed apply after discovering RAP’s Youth Policy Fellowship through an email. All I ever asked for was an opportunity to use my voice, and that is what RAP gave me. A year of exposure to others and the keys to being resilient allowed for a new chapter to be created in my life: Self identity, building community, resilience. Now, as a co-facilitator, I pledge to dedicate my time, effort, and knowledge as I guide the conversations and questions regarding the impactful topics affecting our community, and to encourage my fellows to channel their resilience as I was through my experience with the Youth Policy Fellowship.” -Samantha Torres, Inaugural Fellow and now, Co-facilitator of the Youth Policy Fellowship
