Appeal for April Little bt Little donation

APPEAL FOR DONATION

GlogalGiving’s April Little by Little campaign started today.

Donation up to $50 USD will be matched this week at 50% until this Friday, April 8.

The positive impact of your contribution comes to make possible the two complete lifting up of sanctions imposed to Burundi in 2016:

(i) Last November 2021, all the sanctions that the Obama administration had imposed on Burundi. The Democratic tenant of the White House evoked “the transfer of power following the 2020 elections, the considerable reduction in violence and the pursuit of reforms by President Évariste Ndayishimiye in multiple sectors”, to justify his decision.

(ii) The Council of the EU and the European Council repealed its decision taken in 2016, which imposed the suspension of direct financial assistance to the Burundian administration or institutions on Tuesday 8 February 2022.

(iii) According to the declared the European Union Ambassador to Burundi Mr. Bochu, this decision of lifting restrictions is a result of the peaceful political process that started with the general elections of May 2020 and which has opened a new window of hope for the population of Burundi

(iv) Today Burundi is no long locked down by itself. It’s among countries to be consulted in matter peacebuilding solutions in Africa.
