Keep an eye on Ocean Blue's homepage where you can see the pounds of recoverd debris and plastic grow. We now have over 245,000 pounds of plastic and debris recovered and we're well on our way to 1 million pounds!
Our team landed in Fort Myers Beach, Florida area this week to aid in disaster relief post-hurricane Ian. We will be working there and on Sanibel Island to reach our goal to recover 1 million pounds of ocean debris by the end of the year.
Up until now, every dollar donated has contributed to the recovery 1 pound of plastic from waterways and beaches, and ultimately our one world ocean. With investments from private donors, Ocean Blue now has the equipment needed to make a larger impact. Now, for every $1 donated our team can recover 5 pounds of plastic and debris and you'll see our goal of 1 million pounds increase to a much larger number of pounds in 2023.
Thanks to all of the support Ocean Blue has received over the past 10 years, including your donations, we have been able to put your support directly into plastic and debris recovery efforts and can now move forward with our strategic goals and vision to rehabilitate and conserve the world’s Ocean, beaches, and rivers through recovery of plastics from ocean, beach and river clean ups, solutions to keep pollutants from entering ecosystems, collaborative community-driven service learning projects, and youth education.
In gratitude,
