Hear the sounds of spring
On April 14 we have concluded our next rehabilitation program at a camp for children with hearing and speech disabilities. This is the fourth event in a series of rehabilitation programs. 25 more children have successfully completed the program after a cochlear implant surgery. Among the camp participants there were many children from low-income families, each family have a unique life story. We want to share some of them with you.
6 year old Eva lives in the east of Ukraine, where military operations are taking place. As a result of one of the bombardments, Eva lost her hearing. After a surgery and rehabilitation she has been slowly recovering and now is able to communicate with other children.
4 year old Anton is disabled. He is blind, has difficulty walking and hearing. After attending our camp, Anton can move independently and is now saying his first words. These experiences inspire us to continue our mission of bringing better health, happiness, and well-being to many children.
Our success, of course, would be impossible without the support we receive from our valued sponsors. We appreciate their generosity very much.
Since the beginning of our program, we have helped 100 children go through rehabilitation program at our camp. This year 200 out of 418 children impacted by the hearing loss are scheduled to undergo cochlear implant surgery. This year together we will have 200 more opportunities to make a significant difference in the lives of these children.
The real names of the children were changed.
