Giving children the opportunity to hear the world around them.
Every mother remembers her baby’s first words. This moment is filled with excitement and joy. Hearing impaired children may never experience this moment unless they undergo a timely surgery followed by rehabilitation. There are already 150 children with hearing disability who have been operated, of which 100 have successfully completed rehabilitation at our camp.
Our recent rehabilitation program held in May at a health center “Dachny” allowed 25 more children and their parents to receive valuable experience of learning new life skills necessary to continue rehabilitation at home and, ultimately, social adaptation. Aside from classes and rehabilitation exercises, children spent a lot of time outside, enjoying the nature, playing sports, visiting the local zoo, and making new friends.
Our Fund is actively involved in the initiative to ensure that at all birth centers in Ukraine every newborn child receives a hearing evaluation. We are also working in the direction of state support for the rehabilitation program for children with hearing problems.
We thank our wonderful sponsors who give us the opportunity to make children and their parents happy! We will be very grateful for your continued support!
The real names of the children were changed.
Best regards,
Project manager Kuzmenko Larysa
