Project
“Verba” is an on-line program developed for children with speech and hearing
impairments, which continues to provide them with safe access to rehabilitation
of hearing and speech after cochlear implant surgery despite the ongoing COVID
pandemic.
Following the initial 4 online sessions, parents’ satisfaction with the program
scored at 98%. Based on post-session assessments, children’s auditory
perception improved by 50%, and the level of speech skills grew by 30-40%.
These results inspire our team to continue creating rehabilitation sessions for
children, which, in our observation, not only serve as a catalyst for learning
but also stimulate parents’ engagement during the rehabilitation process.
Following rehabilitation, our children adopt well to social environments,
communicate well with friends and family, some learn how to play musical instruments
and others are starting to attend regular schools.
Our next
online project, scheduled for January 20th, 2022,
will help thirty 3–7-year-old children from various regions of Ukraine. Some
kids are coming from large families.
We want to
express our sincere gratitude to our sponsors, whose contributions support our
work. Your ongoing support offers a chance for children to develop their
hearing and speaking ability, which will help them greatly in schools and
relationships.
Kind
regards,
Project Leader
