I wish I had better news. This March marks the third year of the humanitarian crisis in Syria. More than 9 million people have been forced to flee their homes and over 100,000 have been killed. The number of innocent people caught in the crossfire is devastating — it is only expected to rise. 

Because of your donations to date, Mercy Corps has delivered lifesaving relief to more than 2 million refugees. Because of you, more families have food to eat, clean water to drink and warm coats to survive the cold nights.

You have given children new opportunities and a reason to believe in a brighter future. When Mercy Corps asked Briksam, a 9-year-old refugee, what makes her happy, she replied: "Because you are here. Yet neighboring nations, including Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq, lack sufficient resources to support the constant flow of refugees into their borders  — creating new tensions and challenges.
