In the month of October a team from Hand to Hand rode 800km over a period of 16 days. It was great fun as sponsors joined us for a day or two also helping to raise funds. Every day we set off from thehousing estate and explored many new paths around Pattaya. We had some mishaps along the way but we all worked together as a team supporting each other. A big thanks to all our sponsors who helped us raise 600,000 baht. A huge shout out to Rugby School Thailand who collected
a whopping 5.4 tonne of rice which will keep us going for about 5 months. A big thanks to our amazing cooks who kept us well fed and fuelled for our ride.
We had some brave 14 - 15 year olds who rode a whopping 400km also raising money towards our goal. These children had extra school commitments which meant they had less time for training. We are so proud of their achievements and they are looking forward to signing up for the bike ride next year. A huge thanks to Tawee who rode the motor cycle to ensure all our kids were safe. Khun Ware followed up the rear encouraging and also keeping the kids safe.
On the last day we were welcomed back to the housing estate by lots of supporters who were cheering us to the finish line. There was a small celebration where the participants received certificates to celebrate their achievements. For many people this was the firstcertificate they had received in their life and they will treasure them forever.
On the last day of the ride we rode to Regents International School to collect donations of rice and we were very surprised when we found many classes out cheering for us. After doing a victory lap around the running track the school surprised us by topping up the funds so we achieved our 600,000 baht goal. For many of these people this was the biggest achievement of their life and the cheering they received was worth more than anything else.
