Rok Kern would like to express our sincere thanks for your generosity and support. It has been a fabulous period for our team to stick to our goal and mission and to fully resume our activities as the COVID-19 restriction has been lifted.
Your support enabled us to run four workshops this quarter. There were more than 53 participants who attended the "Children Belong In Families" workshop and webinar, and there were 4 of them who were international community-based in Phnom Penh. Rok Kern has successfully trialed its "Ethical Communication" workshop with the Khmer group. Eight participants joined our trial workshop in "ethical communication" for the Khmer group.
20% of our participants had been involved in orphanages by volunteering and financially supporting them. After attending "Children Belong In Families", they gained new perspectives and have a better understanding of the benefits of family-based care. 70% of them believed that families should receive social protection and welfare support to keep children in their families and communities.
"There is no place better than home, and orphanages can’t replace families," said a participant. Another quote from a participant who attended our "ethical communication" workshop said, "This has been a different topic—we all should learn to respect the dignity of those who are featured in the photo and listen to their story before sharing it."Rok Kern was encouraged to hear these, and it is a steppingstone toward "new perspectives changing communities," and we hope you are happy to hear that too. We are encouraging you to continue to pray for us and walk alongside us toward transformation in the way we care for vulnerable children and perspectives changed.
The Rok Kern team would like to express our gratitude for your kind donation and support once more; without you, this effort would not be feasible.
Regards!
The Rok Kern Team,
