Celebrating International Day of Sport for Development and Peace
The first worshops of Leadership Together, the project held in partnership with Beyond Sport Foundation have started in April in Gura Humorului, Suceava county. Moreover, we celebrated International Day of Sport for Development and Peace on April 6, our organisation being promoted within Beyond Sport network.
With a mission to break the cycle of disadvantage for children, Te Aud Romania has developed informal educational programs and social development sport projects to address issues such as school abandonment and absenteeism, social inclusion and inequality.
The training includes several modules, such as sport for social good, sport for social impact, how to work with children and youth with PTSD, as well as vulnerable groups and PR & Communication in sports. All modules have ended in May 2023.
Almost 20 sport teachers and coaches were part of our Leadership Together program, financed by the Sport Together Fund, delivered by Beyond Sport.
Mini Rugby for all
April 2023: Over 100 children were part of Dolhesti Rugby Tag Cup, organized by Hatmanul Sendrea Dolhestii Mari Secondary School, under the coordination of teachers Adrian Ilioaia and Marius Corduneanu.
May 2023: Over 200 children were part of the Moldova Regional Mini-Rugby Championship, a competition that brought together children from 6 clubs within Moldova region.
CSR Awards
Our most nationwide known program, Rugby for all, has been recognised by CSR Media, as part of their annual Romanian CSR Awards, courtesy of an application submitted by DHL Express Romania.
Making rugby proud
As a premiere within the rugby community, one of our matches has seen a father and son playing as teammates and each of them scoring an essay within the same rugby match.
Ciprian Nichitean, a prominent member of the junior generation from the Rugby for All program, has taken a significant stride in his career by joining the Steaua Bucharest team as a player.
International Recognition for U18 player
David Balan, one of the attendees of the Rugby for All program, has been awarded a new scholarship from Asociatia Mingea Ovala.
Behind the headlines and statistics, we are constantly in search for answers and sport can provide a good solution for a variety of societal challenges these children face. The power that children carry with them lies in mobilising communities and grassroots stakeholders, so we can all unite in bridging the gap between past and present.
