Community Tree Planting Initiative - 2024

By Uche Isieke | Progress Report & Future Plans

Dear Valued Donor,

We are excited to share the success of our 2024 Annual Community Tree Planting Campaign—thanks to your generous support, RUWAI planted over 2,000 native trees across rural communities in Nigeria, surpassing our original goal. These trees are already contributing to ecosystem restoration, improved soil quality, and increased community awareness around environmental stewardship.

To make our impact more inclusive, efficient, and sustainable, we are proud to announce the launch of an innovative, community-driven tree nursery and demonstration farm in Kwali Area Council, FCT. This nursery will allow us to raise 20,000 seedlings annually, ensuring a reliable supply of native trees for future planting initiatives.

More than just a nursery, this project will serve as a training hub, equipping displaced individuals, youth, women, and students with hands-on skills in tree nursery management, agroforestry, and sustainable land restoration. Through this, we are not only fighting deforestation and land degradation—but also creating pathways to green jobs, food security, and climate resilience in vulnerable communities.

We invite you to continue your support as we embark on this transformational journey. Your contributions will directly fund the development of the nursery, training programs, and the continued planting of thousands of trees across Nigeria.

Together, we can grow a greener, stronger future.
