In this report, we will share the progress and plans for the restoration and construction, as well as updates on our overall fundraising efforts.
Restoration
We have confirmed that we are starting the restoration the Hiroshima Panels with the very first work, “The Hiroshima Panels: Ghosts.” This will be the first step to restore the series.
Construction
We have a few images (CG) of the new gallery building. We will start planning the details this summer as we continue our fundraising efforts.
Fundraising update
As we mentioned in the project description, this project on GlobalGiving will fund part of the Maruki Gallery's Preservation Project. We would like to keep you informed on the overall progress of our fundraising efforts. As of July 26, 2021, we received 170,643,648 Japanese Yen (approx. 1,546,000 USD) in 6,446 donations. We are over half way to our fundraising goal for the entire project to restore and preserve the Hiroshima Panels and construct a new gallery building.
On a side note, we would like to share that we will release two online programs this August as part of the Hiroshima Memorial Event. We will send you another report at the beginning of August to inform you the details of the programs.
Thank you again for all your support!
