Welcome to our July 2023 Report!
Thank you for your support to community cats! We know there are many animal welfare projects that you can support - so we and the cats are so grateful that you have chosen to support ours! We are now well into 6th year of running the SAVECats project.
We have now spayed or neutered well over 5200 cats in Anne Arundel County, approximately 1000 cats per year.
Three months ago, we submitted for a 6th year of funding from the Maryland Department of Agriculture's Spay & Neuter grant program for funding start in 2024. We requested additional support for Prince George's County cats in addition to the Anne Arundel County cats we have been receiving support for over the last 5 years.
We recognize that cats do not recognize arbitrary county borders and hope to help those as many community cats in the area!
In the 2nd quarter of 2023, from April 1 to June 30, we performed 175 feral cat surgeries in Anne Arundel County. We worked with several partners in other MD counties including Laurel Cats, Bowie CLAW, and A Cat's Life Rescue to help 100s of additional community cats.
