. Significant Life Change Story/Testimony
Hello, my nickname is Nid. I’m 11 years old and currently living in Santichol village. My parents are ordinary employees. I have one younger sister, Mei (Nickname). She’s 8 months old. My father used to be addicted to Heroin but quit when he joined this center. I was so glad when my father could quit using drugs. Our family has become much happier. My family is poor because both of my parents do ordinary jobs. There used to work to do every day but because of Covid, there is hardly any work for my parents to do. My mother was unable to receive any vaccines because she doesn’t have an identification card.
At the beginning of March, my entire family had Covid. While my mother and I didn’t have a lot of symptoms, my father and my younger sister were affected by it. My father used to have tuberculosis, so he had to be quarantined in the hospital. Meanwhile, my mother, my sister, and I stayed at home. At that time, I had to wipe my sister with a cool towel to lower her fever. My mother also had a fever and was coughing. Back then, we were really struggling, but the minister and the staff from the Saturday School provided us with food such as rice and eggs. The minister had also coordinated with the Pai Hospital for the medicine during the time we had Covid. On the second day, a doctor came to visit our house and bought some food and milk for me, my sister, and mother. They also took my father to the hospital on the same day. The doctor said that I didn’t have to worry about my father and I should take care of my mother and my sister. The doctor was very kind and I was so grateful to God for the help that I received from the Light Shines Center and the Saturday School. Right now, all of my family members have recovered and are all healthy again. Although my father has some coughing left, he can start working. My mother has also received a vaccine.
The lesson that I learned this month was about Jesus and how he rose from the dead and we were saved. I’m thankful to God that he loves me and my family. Thank you for dying for my sins on the cross. By rising from the dead, I realize that Jesus is with me and my family in every situation.
