Scholarships for Intelligent but Needy Students

Dear Friends,

SHD would like to thank all its donors for all their support and donations. So far SHD has been able to raise approx. 10,000 USD, which is a huge accomplishment for us at GlobalGiving and this would not have been possible without your trust and support.

To distribute the scholarships among the intelligent yet needy students, SHD organized 3 different ceremonies at Lahore and Toba Tek Singh where 129 students from different cities i-e Jhang , Sahiwal , Chichawatni, Toba Tek Singh and Lahore received the scholarship amount ranged between 10,000 PKR to 30,000 PKR .

The selected students belonged to multiple educational backgrounds such as Engineering (Mechanical and Civil), Post-Graduation, Doctorate, Associate Degrees, Bachelors Honors, Intermediate (Fsc and I-com) etc.

Several famous Religious and Government personalities i-e Rev.Fr. Shahbir from Gojra, Sister Clara (Principal Convent of Jesus and Mary School), Muhammad Ameen (EDO Secondary Education, Toba Tek Singh) and Rev Fr. Emmanuel Yousaf Mani(Chairman SHD) were also present during the ceremonies to encourage the students.

One of the educationists Sr. Clara (Principal Convent of Jesus and Mary) in her speech expressed that “Students are the real asset of the nation; therefore, they must utilize their maximum strength for the prosperity of the country. She also praised Society for Human Development for supporting the students”

The students thanked SHD for the initiative and thanked all the donors from the GlobalGiving Community. At the end one of the students “Mehwish” expressed her feelings “I am grateful for this help. This has helped me a lot in my studies during 4 years of my education. I am able to secure 3.5 CGPA. Currently I am attending my last semester in my university (Formen Christian College). I recently attended an exchange program in Missouri State University in USA through Global Ugrad Scholarship.  I had a wonderful experience in States where I learned to live for one another. I am also planning to start my Masters in US in the same university as I am in contact with them. I got wonderful result in the semester which I completed in the States. Soon I will be able to earn and make a difference in someone’s life as you do. Once again thank you for your support.

SHD plans to continue this intervention in future to benefit more poor students. Therefore we would like to request all our friends, donors and supporters to support this project.
