It's exam time for our students

The end of the academic year is drawing near for students in Thai schools as some of them will begin their long summer break in early March.

Year 6 and Year 9 are important years in the Thai education system as the students must sit state exams. The legal requirement for students to continue their education through to grade 9. If the students fail this state exam, they must retake the test in their summer break... and nobody wants to do that!

Students who do not do well in the grade 6 exam, may have limited choices as to which schools they can attend for secondary school.

If a student fails the grade 9 test or does not do well they have the option of ending their education journey and enter the workforce, or continue their education in vocational schools. There are many of these located in and around Pattaya and they offer course in business, account, computers and other academic studies.

All of this means there is a lot of pressure on the students to do well and our Hand to Hand Foundation team provides extra support for the student and the family during this time.

Thank you for supporting our students from poor economic families to attend school. For many they are the first literate person in their family and this opportunity of education not only affects their life, but the whole family.

We also provide free extra-curricular activities for the students including soccer and music lessons.
