Education is a right of every child; however, poverty and illiteracy of parents makes this an impossible dream for some. Hand to Hand foundation has a scholarship program for children from grades 1 through to university level. The students enroll in our project after a very thorough investigation into the plight and needs of the child and their family.
Hand to Hand began 14 years ago with the focus of keeping children in their families. The founder met many parents who had abandoned their child into an orphanage, just so they could receive an education. By providing scholarships for slum children, we enable families to stay together.
The academic school year has already begun and every child who needs a sponsor has support. Unfortunately, we don't yet have sponsors for every child in the program, however, the belief that children have a right to education, surpasses the financial pressures on the foundation.
Sponsors receive photo's, report cards and scanned art projects in May, November and the following March when the academic school year finishes.
Here are some student’s who currently need help. Upon sponsoring the child, you will get their full story. Please indicate which child you wish to sponsor when donating.
Toto is in Grade 3. He is being cared for by his unskilled mother as his father died just a few weeks ago.
