Since 2011, the Syrian civil war has devastated infrastructure, leaving many schools without heating during freezing winters. The Syria School Heating Project addresses this issue by equipping classrooms in Idlib with heaters, fuel, and maintenance support. This initiative ensures a warm, safe learning environment, reduces illness, and helps prevent disruptions to education caused by harsh winter conditions.
The lack of heating in many schools in Syria, particularly in Idlib, has a serious impact on students' ability to continue their education during the cold winter months. Without adequate heating, students risk getting sick and missing school, which disrupts their education. This problem also leaves schools as one of the few places where children can stay warm and safe during the winter months, highlighting the urgent need for heating solutions in these schools.
This project will provide heating solutions for 300 classrooms in identified schools in Idlib during the harsh winter months. By installing heaters and supplying fuel, the project will reduce absenteeism caused by cold-related illnesses and allow students to continue their education without disruption. The project will also ensure that these schools remain a safe space for children to stay warm and contribute to their overall well-being and educational progress throughout the winter season
The continuous operation of heated classrooms will improve overall well-being and contribute to a more stable and productive educational environment in the region. It will also build a foundation for resilience, as children who are able to attend school regularly are better equipped to build a brighter future despite ongoing challenges. The continued operation of heated classrooms will improve overall well-being and contribute to a more stable and productive educational environment in the region
