Years of conflict have devastated Syria’s infrastructure, leaving many schools without heating during freezing winter months. In regions like Idlib, classrooms remain unbearably cold, making it difficult for students to focus, increasing absenteeism, and heightening the risk of cold-related illnesses. For many children, schools are not just places of learning but also one of the few safe and warm spaces available during winter.
The Syria School Heating Project provides heating solutions for hundreds of classrooms by installing heaters, supplying fuel, and ensuring maintenance support. This initiative helps prevent disruptions in education, reduces illness-related absences, and creates a safer learning environment for thousands of children.
By keeping classrooms warm, this project fosters a more stable and productive educational setting. Ensuring that children can continue their education despite harsh winter conditions strengthens their resilience and improves their long-term prospects in the face of ongoing challenges.
