Dear supporters,
We want to express our gratitude for your generous support since your donations are helping us to continue our mission supporting science and promoting scientific vocations. Collaborating with other companies and organizations is a strategy we use to increase the impact of our activities and optimize the donations we receive.
On this occasion, we would like to share with you a long-standing collaboration we have with MERCK, a global leader company in science and technology. Jointly, volunteers from both Apadrina la Ciencia and employees of the SPARK program at MERCK carry out, among others, two types of activities:
- "Curiosity Labs": We visit schools across Spain to conduct scientific and technological experiments with students.
- "Curiosity Cube": MERCK runs a mobile science lab, which has visited Spain for the second consecutive year. Here, children have the chance to carry out experiments and engage in hands-on learning.
These activities bring science and the scientific method closer to children and inspire curiosity in young minds, always asking questions and being amazed by scientific processes.
Both types of activities are made possible thanks to the dedication of volunteers. We’d like to highlight the importance of the SPARK program, which plays a key role in involving employees in volunteering. These initiatives within the company help employees feel valued and connected, boosting their motivation and commitment to the organization.
Thanks to the strong collaboration between Apadrina la Ciencia and MERCK, in 2023, the SPARK team in Spain was recognized with the Q1 Award for their outstanding efforts, including the number of initiatives they organized, the volunteers who participated, and the many children they introduced to the world of science.
