We are super pleased that our patient support initiative,S.C.I.P.S (St Cyril Initiative for Patients Support) has raised funds to help another cancer patient in Nigeria. Mrs E. O., a 50years old woman from the Southeastern part of Nigeria was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma of the right breast early this year in 2021. E.O. spent her life savings and money raised by family and friends on surgery and chemotherapy. Few weeks later, she needed to start radiotherapy but she did not have enough funds. While trying to raise money, the radiotherapy equipment closer to her broke down and she needed to come to Lagos. Her family members were only able to raise NGN500,000-Nigerian naira ($1213) while her radiotherapy treatment cost is NGN970,000 ($2354)+$291 for accommodation in Lagos. That is when she came to SCIPS for help. With part of our SCIPS funds from GlobalGiving and a local fund raising campaign, we were able to raise the balance of $2645. Mrs E.O's Radiation treatment is going on now and she has a chance to live a cancer free life. We are sharing this story so you know how important your donation is to so many. Thank you all as without your constant support whenever we call you, many people in Nigeria like Mrs E. O will not be treated and may end up dead in months. Please share this newsletter with all your friends and relations so we can continue with the good work we are doing. Thank you. Warmest regards, Moji Moji Animashaun
