Dear donors,
Greetings from Bangalore Baptist Hospital.
Thanks to your generous support, children like Yashas and Ishitha are making great strides in ways we once thought impossible.
Yashas, a cheerful three-year-old with Down syndrome, has progressed. When he first came to us, he struggled with the simplest tasks—holding a toy or making eye contact. Today, thanks to your gift of toys, Yashas is walking, playing, smiling, and even starting to speak. As his mother says, "At first, he was just watching. Now he plays, smiles, and talks a little."
Ishitha, a 4-year-old girl from Bashettyhalli, also faced challenges with communication. When she first arrived, she hardly spoke, and her parents were unsure how to help her express herself. But with the support of speech therapy and the tools you’ve provided, Ishitha is now speaking in full sentences. The toys—blocks, puzzles, and pretend games—have helped her learn new words, practice sounds, and build confidence. As her mother shares, "before, she was just showing with her hand. Now she’s talking nicely—full sentences also, she says". These toys go beyond play—they help children like Yashas and Ishitha discover their potential, build connections, and find their voices.
Thank you for helping Yashas and many children like him grow through play. Your kindness is opening doors that once seemed closed.
With gratitude,
Carol
