Harvesters is engaged in paying tuitions, uniforms costs, and school supplies fees for children in the community who otherwise would have no opportunity to attend school due to lack of funds.
Zimbabwe does not provide free public school for children. Therefore, the majority of the children in the community that Harvesters serves cannot attend school due to lack of funds. Prospects for the uneducated are bleak and results in a cycle of poverty.
Harvesters has developed a relationship with the local school to offer discounted fees for students Harvesters sends to school. Harvesters relies on donors to partner in giving the children an opportunity for education. The Send a Child to School Project hopes to pair a donor with the a student throughout their education journey.
Many of the children who have benefited from Harvesters tuition funding program have gone on to higher education and productive employment breaking out the poverty cycle. Some of the students returned to the community as teachers, social workers, or nurses to give back and help children in the plight they once experienced.
