Like a river, our school adapts to our surroundings. So, as we come out of the wet season and into the dry season, we are looking to secure a location that can help us build capacity and offer longer-term stability.
We have been teaching from a Pagoda, which local monks have well supported, and it's time to find our own space again. During the wet season, our classroom floor would have rainwater covering the ground due to a gutter overflow in the roof. Students still came to study, and their commitment was inspiring. Great things happen to those who don't stop believing, trying, learning and being grateful. We witness this every day with happy and humble students!
It's been that time of the year for enrolments, and we have 85 students this year, some as young as four. A mum and her two children are studying together, all at a different English language level. Nimol is 31, and her two daughters, Lina and Sopheanith, are 7 and 9. Nimol spoke about wanting to support her daughters to achieve, and the best way she knew how was to learn what they were learning. That's commitment and dedication!
The teachers are doing incredible work with the curriculum: Up and Away in English. This study course ranges in levels 1-6 and was developed by a teacher who lived and taught English in Southeast Asia for nearly twenty years.
We remain committed to shaping stronger futures for kids in Cambodia, and with your assistance, we are now building our second school in thirteen years, so please join us in creating greatness for locals by locals.
