MissingLink celebrated International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25, 2017 by opening the door of the shelter to the young women looking for a violence free life. We started with four young women amongst them three were victims of domestic violence and one was trafficking survivor. The generous contribution of our friends made it possible for these young women to go to sleep after a warm dinner, to a clean bed and without any fear of abuse probably for the first time in their lives! Since then the project sheltered total 13 young women. They had access to legal guidance and violence free environment and we continue to reach out to more women and girls in need.
We hosted our generous donors and volunteers at the shelter and gave them a tour of the project. It was a great opportunity to us to meet few of our donors at the project area and show them how important their contributions are.
MissingLink is learning every day and striving to serve the community better. The need is huge and the resources are limited. We introduced a regular giving program where we are requesting our friends to walk the path with us by making $20monthly contribution that will help us to run the shelter every month. We already have six generous friends who signed up for the program and now we are looking for another 14. Will you be interested in being our regular Santa? It can change a life for good.
Please do not forget to follow us on Facebook and write to us. Stay tuned for our upcoming announcemnts and activities. Your feedback and appreciation matters a lot to all of us.
