The GlobalGiving platform has been greatly beneficial to actualizing the train of 50 rural women in Nigeria. However, due to the recent economic crises and security challenges experienced in several parts of the world today Nigeria not excluded, there has been a downward turn in the final stage execution of the project due to insecurity and lack of the budgeted resources stipulated as donations from our esteemed partners and associates.

The most recent security issues in several parts of Nigeria particularly in the North and Eastern parts of the country has contributed to the slow delivery and output in our targeted results after the initial success of the first event and scholarship early this year, Sadly, with the recent kidnaps and banditry in these regions a lot of parents, husbands, and women are terrified about leaving their houses or a particular region for fear of attacks by bandits or herdsmen, hence even with resources provided by the President of the Foundation to further empower and train more women, has proven abortive.

As a result of this pandemic, most hits are women and children, being at the receiving end as their husbands, fathers are out of jobs and in some areas placed on lockdown, being jobless and idle the demand on mating with spouses increased sporadically and hence making unwanted babies. Several settlers in these Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps have a vast number of pregnant women with very poor sanitation and lack of healthcare and lots of hungry children.

Notwithstanding, The President of the Foundation, the project manager, and the project planning team paid a visit to one of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps and donated relief material and drugs, provided specialized sessions for pregnant women, and dewormed over 300 children within the camp. This outreach was executed during World Malaria Day, April 25th, 2021.

Finally, Barrister Sam Otoboeze Foundation (BSOF) is truly grateful to all our partners and donors who donated towards this project in spite of this global pandemic. We express our profound gratitude to everyone who supported us through this platform with even a dollar, as we wrap up this project our heart goes out in appreciation to every donor and the GlobalGiving platform.

We hope that when we start a new project, we would still find support from you all. Please visit our websites on www.bsofoundation.org to keep abreast of all our projects and activities and reach us at bsof.info@gmail.com
