Sponsor Our Water Technicians in Haiti

Hey there!

Just wanted to give you an update on what's happening at Poured Out with our amazing Haitian staff. On our last trip to Haiti in April 2023 we took down more supplies for our staff to complete another Water House all on their own! This one is being installed at a new clinic that Chelo built! Chelo saw a need in this mountain community for basic healthcare and saved up money from working at Poured Out and selling land to build the clinic. He then asked Poured Out to help him get clean water to the area! The Water House is quite the challenge since the water source is over 300 feet from the clinic itself but the team successfully built it all on the training they learned over the last few years! 

We have also recently enlisted them in the hard work of finding equipment to install our systems that is easily located in Haiti. We are having increasing challenges with being able to take equipment from the US to Haiti and so we left lists with different parts for them to find ways to install Water Houses completely without the aid of supplies from the US as well. This is a huge undertaking, but one that we fully trust the team is capable of because of their training, competence, and passion for the work. In the midst of many struggles, they continue to serve in amazing ways.

Hey all! 

Thanks for your support of our development and training program. This continues to be an ongoing program to support our Haitian staff in learning about all our water systems and manage them on their own! 

This month we were able to support two staff members virtually while they did maintenance on our Water Houses! One is Renaldo, who is our newest member and needs the most continued training. He was able to do a well clean out and change filters. This was a learning experience for both of us because this was our first well that needed this type of care. We did alot of googling and phone calls but we were able to get this system up and running again in a few days and the community is so grateful! Our second staff member, Chelo, was able to do some maintenance on his own this week including changing out a leaking piece of pipe. He did all the troubleshooting on his own and we were so excited to see the development we have already put into him the last year really pay off!
