Seeing the Inner Craving
Most people have a nice dinner time with family every day. To enjoy the meals with loved ones is especially a bless. Yet, most of our sponsored children have no chance to have family time because their parents have to work day and night. This hinders the mental development of the kids during their childhood and leave an empty hole within their hearts.
Seeing the needs of these kids, the Mustard Seed Mission invited their families to a barbeque on the Mid Autumn Festival, an exceptional chance for them to enjoy their family time.

The barbeque was held in Tainan and the participants are mostly single-parent families and cross-generation families. They don't have much chance to have outdoor activities. Thus, the Mustard Seed Mission encouraged families to collaboratively prepare for performances on stage and the preparations of the barbeque. Hopefully through this kind of activities the kids and families attended could feel the love from one another, even be able to make friends with other families.
Precious the Gathering Time
Shih is from a single-parent family. Her father has to work for long hours throughout the days, hence she has to single-handedly take care of her younger siblings at home.
Ni's grandmother is too old and feeble to work while her father is incapable of working too.
They all have nice gathering time with families in the event!
The get-together dinner might not be luxurious; the ingredients can all be bought in a local market. However, the thing we are trying to grant the kids is the pleasure and warmth of a family reunion instead of the food itself. We got together to enjoy the performance of the kids in delight as they demonstrate their talents with confidence.
The night ended with laughter and joy; it represents a new start of hope as we shared this memorable experience. We hope we can create more cheerful moments as a big community.
