On the evening of June 28, 2024, Rong, a spirited young athlete, stood under the bright lights of the Taiwan CPBL Rookie Draft stage. His face, a canvas of shy excitement and uncontainable joy, told a story of dreams realized. Selected by the Rakuten Monkeys, Rong's journey from the heart of Hualien's Amis tribe to professional baseball was a testament to his relentless spirit and the unwavering support of The Mustard Seed Mission (MSM)'s "Sprouting Dream" project.
Rong's path was never easy. Born into the serene yet challenging environment of Hualien, he faced economic hardships and his father's health struggles. However, his love for baseball remained a constant beacon. From his early days, Rong's talent shone brightly in youth baseball championships, his batting skills and power setting him apart.
High school brought new challenges and triumphs. Competing in national junior baseball championships, Rong clinched the batting award two years in a row, each swing reflecting his dedication and countless hours of training. His journey was not just about honing his skills but also about building a foundation for his professional dreams.
Throughout this journey, The Mustard Seed Mission has been an abiding presence in Rong's life. MSM's support, both financial and emotional, allowed him to focus on his education and baseball training without the burden of financial stress. During moments of fatigue and difficulty, the encouragement he received was crucial in helping him stay committed to his goals.
Now, as Rong steps into his professional baseball career, he carries with him a deep sense of gratitude and pride. The challenges he faced have forged his resilience and maturity. Looking ahead, he knows that more games and challenges await, but with a steadfast belief in his dreams, he is ready to face anything.
Join us in celebrating Rong's incredible journey and the power of dreams nurtured by love and support.
