Today, we bring you an exciting update from our Administration Manager, Damaris Chepkemboi.
It is with immense gratitude and excitement that we share an update on the progress we have made towards establishing a dedicated trauma centre at Londiani Sub-County Hospital. Your unwavering support and contributions have been instrumental in bringing us closer to our vision of providing enhanced trauma care for our community.
The tendering process for the trauma center was successfully completed with a contract signed with the chosen contractor, marking a significant milestone in our journey. This achievement reflects our collective commitment to building a state-of-the-art facility that will save lives and offer critical care with dignity.
On June 27th, we celebrated a momentous occasion—the groundbreaking ceremony for our new trauma centre. The event was graced by the presence of the County Executive Committee member for health services, Hon. Brenda Bill Bii, who officially launched the project. Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar were represented by Dr. Anca Trulea. Others in attendance included volunteers on Harambee, medical and nursing students from Ireland, BCW and hospital staff and members of the construction team.
The atmosphere was filled with hope and anticipation as we took the first step towards realizing our dream. The groundbreaking ceremony symbolizes not just the construction of a building, but the creation of a lifeline for our community. Rising from the ashes of last year's tragedy, this marked a new beginning and a positive outcome for us all.
The journey to establish a dedicated trauma centre at Londiani Sub-County Hospital is progressing wonderfully. Construction work has already started, and our community deserves the best. With your continued support, we will achieve our vision of providing exceptional trauma care.
Thank you for being part of this transformative journey.
