By Tony Uche | LET'S PLANT MORE TREES
Dear Support,
It is a decade of ecosystems restoration and resilience. This calls for a collaboration among we citizens of the global community to achieve abundance for people and the environment.
Rural Watch Africa Initiative ( RUWAI) as an organization is not resting on its oars to bringing economic and environmental justice to marginalized rural communities.
Here on this site we planted 160 trees and distributed over 40 to students and teachers.
We aim to discourage many underprivileged students with nutritional deficits, from going to the bush in search of fruits for energy, by planting #fruittrees.
Many of these children miss classes while on this journey, while some are victims of assaults as they are exposed to hazards.
This has adversely affected their psychology and performance during exams.
There is also a lack of environmental awareness and benefits of planting trees. We are using the same opportunity to educate them on these issues and provide them with the right skills and knowledge to combat ecological degradation and enhance rural household economies.
It is cost-effective to have these trees in an enclosed area such as schools as members and volunteers will take care of these while using them to enhance the practical experience.
We are replacing the few trees that didn't survive, weeding out grasses, and making sure they are stable.
We are not done yet, we still have many schools to cover with your support.
Join us and let's #Restore4All.
