Take a trip to any toy store with a young child, and you will most likely see them go straight for the pile of stuffed animals. Just like adults, babies and children experience anxiety, and when they do, they look for objects that will provide comfort. Holding on tight to a soft cuddly object can soothe a child's fears, especially when separated from their family.
Comfort Cases' mission is to eliminate the demoralizing practice of placing children in homes with their belongings stuffed into trash bags. Each "Comfort Case" is filled with essential items including a new set of pajamas, a new blanket, an age-appropriate hygiene kit, a book and a stuffed animal to be given to youth in foster care. With children entering foster care daily, and more than 400,000 children in foster care nationwide, it's so important to not just raise awareness, but to also provide hope and dignity to them.
So far this year - thanks to your support - we have distributed 9,310 stuffies into the arms of children entering foster care! We hope you find that as heartwarming as we do.
For children impacted by abuse and neglect, attaching to humans can feel scary. In these cases, it can be helpful for children to have an attachment object that helps them feel safe. So, put simply, YOU help to make a tangible difference to vulnerable children. A cute stuffed animals feels like a lifeline to children in need of hope and support.
Thank you again for your donation to Comfort Cases.
