Comfort Cases' mission is to eliminate the demoralizing practice of placing children in homes with their belongings stuffed into trash bags. Each "Comfort Case" is filled with essential items including a new set of pajamas, a new blanket, an age-appropriate hygiene kit, a book and a stuffed animal to be given to youth in foster care. With children entering foster care daily, and more than 437,000 children in foster care nationwide, it's so important to provide hope and dignity to them.
So far this year - thanks to your support - we have distributed 20,328 stuffies into the arms of children entering foster care! We hope you find that as heartwarming as we do.
The predictable nature of the relationship with a stuffed animal allows a child to experience unconditional love. Children feel love from their stuffed animals, and they feel emotionally stable and learn to trust that they can get through a stressful moment without feeling complete rejection.
For children impacted by abuse and neglect, attaching to humans can feel scary. In these cases, it can be helpful for children to have an attachment object that helps them feel safe. So, put simply, YOU help to make a tangible difference to vulnerable children. A cute stuffed animal feels like a lifeline to children in need of hope and support.
Thank you again for your donation to Comfort Cases.
