Hello Everyone,

You are receiving this report because you have been incredibly generous in supporting Tea Leaf Trust to ensure that no student has to drop out of our life-changing one year diploma due to having to choose between food and education. As the impact of the economic crisis continues to be felt keenly across the tea estates, your support is as valuable as ever.

As we move into final term of the 2023 cohort's diploma course, I wanted to update you with so key stats to demonstrate how your support has made a difference.

At the start of 2023, we received 791 expressions of interest and took 394 students onto the course. As of the end of term two, we have seen only 16 students drop out of the diploma, compared to over 100 at this time last year.

In addition to the main diploma, we have 18 out of 20 students on our Advanced Diploma, which produces our teachers for expansion and sustainability.

Of the 18 students who have had to leave these two diploma courses, 10 have done so to take up their places at University.

The students studying with us are, in turn, teaching basic English to 4,605 children every Wednesday afternoon as part of our Children's English Programme.

These same students have also delivered structured service projects to 85,430 members of their communities. This impacts on their self-esteem, emotional resilience and leadership skills. They begin to understand their value and the role they can play creating a more positive future.

More specifically, during this term the focus turns to employability with the students being supported with CVs, cover letters and having mock interviews. Our employability team also organise a couple of job fairs to ensure that as many students as possible have jobs or further training organised for when they leave.

Thank you for your support. Being in the tea estates as I write this, I often feel overwhelmed by the need and feel that we don't do enough, but writing this for you it also helps me understand the huge impact Tea Leaf Trust has. Please do click the links below for some clips that bring it all to life.

Thank you.

Tim
