INCLUSIVE SUMMER CAMP “FUN AND FRIENDSHIP”
The 4 week day-care summer camp was organized in Dilijan, Ijevan, Berd and Noyemberyan cities for total 260 children with disabilities and 100 nondisabled children from 10-16 age group. The camp activities were carefully designed for fun and friendship and planned to encourage collaboration, improve confidence, self-esteem, and independence, and challenge societal and self-imposed limits through a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, art therapy and recreation. The camp created a real community of friendship and fun that children will remember for a longer time. They learnt to express their thoughts and feelings and deal with their emotions such as fear of getting sick or fear of loneliness. The activities of painting, sculpting, and pottery helped the better interaction with each other, provided a new set of skills for selfexpression and communication.
BETTER START OF SCHOOLING YEAR
Our children started the new schooling year of 2021-2022 with improved self-esteem, confidence and hope. Already at the end of September, we received feedback from schools that the school attendance of children is improved considerably, they demonstrate better participation in learning activities and are not far behind other children as the last year.
